Homes for Veterans helps veterans like Miguel every day
Miguel enlisted in the US Marine Corps in January 2015. He had been serving active duty at his reserve station for a few months when he saw an advertisement offering free motorcycle lessons to military, police, fire fighters and EMTs. He got his license and began to ride. On his 2nd day of riding, a car cut in front of him and hit him. He ended up becoming paralyzed from the waist down and was honorably discharged from the Marines.
Homes for Veterans was able to fund the installation of a ramp and railing to his home, as well as the remodeling of his bathroom to be wheelchair accessible.
